Today’s Best Bets (3/07).

We have some great racing today but it is extremely competitive. We have a few fancies today but our advice is to back them at a reduced stake, as most of the contests today are trappy.

1:30 Haydock - TURN ON THE CHARM (9/4) - WIN - We think the drop back to 7 furlongs today could be the making of this horse. He travels through his races extremely well and if we see a bit of a pace collapse up front, we think he’ll burst through late on to get the win.

1:50 Sandown - LAZULI (6/1) - EW - This is a very competitive G3 sprint and we could probably make a case for 2 or 3 in the race but ultimately we decided to side with the proven quantity. Whilst LAZULI does carry a penalty here, on his day, he’s top class and he certainly looks to have the measure of CAME FROM THE DARK. The ground is a slight negative which is really the only reason why this isn’t a straight win play.

3:20 Leicester - THE ATTORNEY (2/1) - WIN - This horse has plenty of class and whilst he can be a little free in his races, he has a fantastic attitude. He’s facing a weak bunch today who all have questions to answer and his connections are very bullish about their chances.

4:35 Sandown - IL BANDITO (11/4 - INSURE 2 places) - WIN - Usually we would be backing this horse straight win at 7/2 but we are very nervous about the favourite, RUN TO FREEDOM and for that reason we have played the Insure Bet. That being said, IL BANDITO ticks all the boxes for us and as with THE ATTORNEY above, we know that his connections are quietly confident.
