Our best bets for today are detailed below and from now on we are going to be advising points on each selection so that we can keep a tally of the Profit and Loss.
2:00 Bath - SUNS UP GUNS UP (3/1) - 2pt WIN - This horse is a tricky customer, there is no doubt about that but he’s in decent form currently and this is a really weak race. The return to fast ground should assist, as will the fact that Charles is back in the saddle. He should be winning this providing he gets a clean trip.
2:40 Lingfield - VOI (14/1) - 0.5pts EW - We fancied this horse the last day but she was very weak in the betting on her return from a break. I’m sure that run will have brought her forward and she certainly likes this particular CD. She’s not easy to win with but the booking of Laura is a big plus and I think she will go close. We have also had a word for NASHY but he’s simply too short in the market given that his new yard will need to turn him around.
4:10 Lingfield - MAYFAIR STROLL (15/8) - 2pt WIN - This filly is making her handicap debut today and is strongly fancied to win. She shaped with real promise last time out and the step up in trip should be absolutely perfect for her. On paper this race won’t take much winning and Charlie has found her a perfect opportunity.
4:25 Catterick - THE BIG HOUSE (11/2) - 1pt EW - This horse excels over this particular course and distance and this really isn’t a great race (at least on paper). I like the booking of the 3lb claimer and although the horse’s last run was poor, I’m sure he’ll be primed for today and it’s very difficult to see him being out of the top 2/3.
8:45 Sandown - BYRON HILL (11/2) - 0.5pts EW - The key to this horse is a strong early gallop and he should get that today as I would expect DANCING HARRY and TYNECASTLE to make this a decent test. If that proves to be the case, then Jamie Spencer can sit out the back and bring the horse into the race slowly. If he can preserve his finishing kick, then he’ll have a great chance of winning.
Total Stake = 8pts
Good luck 🦆
